remo.fm has replaced chuchichaeschtli.com

Dear readers

As you might noticed I’ve just changed the domain name from chuchichaeschtli.com to remo.fm. I also used this event to change the url-structure of my blog – you now find the date in every url. Plus all other links (like categories etc.) are now in English (they were in German before because this blog started as a German speaking blog).

I was really happy that over 50 people have taken the poll about the domain name change. As I already said in that posting: I’ve already made up my mind that remo.fm would be the new name for this blog. I am very happy that the majority (55%) supports this decision. But I also had mixed feelings about the stunning 27% that didn’t want me to change chuchichaeschtli.com. Sorry guys! I really appreciate the support for the former name. I love it, too!

I’ve spent the sunday evening to make the transition as smooth as possible. I’ve set almost 200 htaccess permanent redirects to keep the "old" urls alive, ALL OF THEM! Please check some old links out and send me bug reports. I’m sure there are some typos and errors.

I also hope that the old RSS-feed urls are still valid. They definitively should be.

    Ich bin schon froh, wenn ich remo.com in 12 Monaten verdrängt habe. Das könnte taff werden.

    Das mit dem Googeln kenn ich. Hab auch schon dutzendfach empfohlen, nach meinen Namen zu googeln, um zu chuchichaeschtli.com zu gelangen. Alles unnötige Hürden…

    Danke, ich weiss. Das kommt davon, wenn man mit einem deutschen Template startet und dann so viele Dinge ändert, dass man nicht mehr so leicht auf die englische Version wechseln kann.

    Werde bei Gelegenheit den Rest übersetzen.

    Hättest Du denn nicht einfach die Datenbank sichern können und als Templates die englischen Templates neu installieren können?

    remo.fm ist 100x besser als chuchichaeschtli.com. Ich habe den Link auf twenty9 angepasst und hoffe, dass dein Wunsch mit der Platzierung bei Google in Erfüllung geht ;)
